Candidate and Treasurer Training: How to Report Paid Communications
The COPP will be leading a training on Thursday, December 5th. The training will take place in the capitol (room 102) from 1-3:00 p.m. All 2020 statewide and legislative candidates and treasurers are invited to attend! The training will cover reporting paid communication expenses with an emphasis on Facebook and other social media ads. We are aware that some campaigns have had difficulty and confusion in reporting Facebook and other similar paid communications. Therefore, we strongly recommend attendance by the candidate and/or the treasurer or staff responsible for finance reporting.
The COPP reminds candidates that they have the responsibility and obligation to understand and comply with all Montana campaign finance laws. This includes the reporting and disclosing of all social media expenses.
If you plan to attend, we strongly advise that you RSVP by December 2nd. This will ensure that we have the resources and space to accommodate all participants. To RSVP, email Katie Beall at email@example.com and list the number of participants who will be attending.
We hope to see you December 5th!
